~ The Light ~

Again I made the mistake of trusting a higher power

A higher power in which I’m always reluctant to believe in

How is it possible to be standing even more alone than before?

Lost myself to the vision of something that’s out of my reach

Be strong and keep fighting they all say

But where is the one who says that enough is enough

Pack up your life and start where things aren’t as tough

Is there such a place?

Where the losses and the let downs are the cares of yesterday

Almost a quarter of a century passed

And still asking the same questions

Unanswered and unfulfilled

Slipping away and I laugh as people pray

But to them that is their only hope

I heard once that we are born into this world alone

And maybe what hurts is that I know that is the way we will leave

While you are praying to your God tonight

Pray that before you end you see the light
